THE COUNSEL GOD DESTROYS
A Prophetic Call to the Global Church to Return the King
By @TCA
PROLOGUE — WHY I AM SPEAKING
This word is not born of outrage. It is born of grief and love.
I am not speaking as one who stands above the Church, but as one who belongs to her, who loves her, and who trembles at what Scripture reveals when God’s order is displaced while His name is still invoked.
This is a Christ-centered call to repentance, not a denunciation of people. It is a call to destroy counsel that destroys men, because Christ loves men and desires that we live under the reign of God, not the tyranny of the flesh.
“As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten.” — Revelation 3:19
SECTION 1 — THE DAY THE KING WAS DRIVEN OUT (2 SAMUEL 15)
In 2 Samuel15, David—the anointed king, a man after God’s heart—was sent out of Jerusalem. The throne remained. The city remained. The priesthood remained. The language of God remained. But the king was absent. However, a new counterfeit King is now claiming the throne. This is one of the most dangerous spiritual states a people can enter: Form without authority. Structure without submission. Religion without reign.
Absalom did not destroy Israel. He occupied it. And when the flesh takes the throne, the first casualty is holiness, and the second is truth.
SECTION 2 — AHITHOPHEL: WHEN COUNSEL IS
CALLED “THE WORD OF GOD”
Scripture says of Ahithophel:
“The counsel of Ahithophel… was as if one had inquired at the oracle of God.” — 2 Samuel 16:23
This is terrifying. Ahithophel was not a false prophet shouting rebellion. He was a trusted insider, respected, celebrated, and listened to. And what was his counsel?
“Go into your father’s concubines… in the sight of all Israel.” — 2 Sam 16:21–22
This counsel explicitly violated the Law of Moses:
● Leviticus 18:8
● Deuteronomy 22
It was porneia, public, shameless, and strategic.
Yet it was:
● Accepted
● Normalized
● Celebrated
● Unopposed
Why? Because when the King is absent, immorality is rebranded as wisdom.
SECTION 3 — THE DOCTRINE OF BALAAM:
CORRUPTION WITHOUT RENUNCIATION
Jesus Himself names the pattern:
“You have those who hold the doctrine of Balaam… to commit sexual immorality.” — Revelation 2:14
Balaam could not curse God’s people. So he taught leaders how to corrupt them from within. This doctrine is not atheism.
It is a compromise clothed in spirituality.
It says:
● “God still loves you”
● “Grace still covers you”
● “We are still God’s people”
While holiness is removed, conscience is dulled, and the flesh is fed. Ahithophel is Balaam inside Israel.
SECTION 4 — THE APOSTOLIC WITNESS (PAUL, JUDE,
PETER)
Paul — Holiness Is Not Optional
“It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you… and you are puffed up.” — 1 Cor 5:1–2
Paul does not call this compassion. He calls it leaven.
“Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?”
Liberty divorced from obedience is Balaam’s doctrine.
Jude — The Pattern Is Named
“They have run greedily in the error of Balaam.” — Jude 11
Grace turned into license is not grace. It is rebellion with Scripture attached.
Peter — The Internal Corruptors
“They have eyes full of adultery…following the way of Balaam.” — 2 Pet 2:14–15
These are not outsiders. They are among you.
SECTION 5 — THIS IS A WORD FOR THE GLOBAL CHURCH
This is the state we are in:
● Christ is confessed, but displaced
● Scripture is quoted, but reinterpreted
● Immorality is practiced, then taught
● Counsel is praised that God calls abomination
This is Absalom on the throne, Ahithophel in the pulpit, Balaam in the doctrine, while
David is outside the city.
SECTION 6 — THE CALL TO JOAB, ITTAI, AND DAVID’S MIGHTY MEN
In 2 Samuel 15–20, David did not return alone. There were men who said:
“Where my lord the king is—whether in death or life—there also will your servant be.” — 2 Sam 15:21 (Ittai)
These were:
● Loyal when it cost them
● Faithful without position
● Warriors for order, not popularity
Joab, Ittai, Zadok, Abiathar—they took responsibility to restore the rightful king.
This is the call today:
● Not to rebellion.
● Not to schism.
● But to a responsible, holy courage.
Men and women who will:
● Refuse Balaam’s doctrine
● Reject Ahithophel’s counsel
● Stand with the rejected King
● Prepare the way for His return
SECTION 7 — THE HOPE
Christ is not finished with His Church.
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock.” — Rev 3:20
This word is not doom. It is mercy. Because the King still desires to return.
FINAL WORD
I speak this because I love the Church. I speak this as a member of the church who is responding to the Word of the Lord in repentance. I speak this because Christ reigns. I speak this because holiness leads to life.
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” — Rev 2:17
